Exterior and Interior
The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible 3LZ is the range-topping trim of the 2024 Corvette lineup. Hence, it comes decked out with every item listed on the standard feature set. On the outside, it looks exactly like what it is. A predator intricately constructed to pierce through air, carve corners, and slay supercars. The design language is scarily aggressive, phenomenally symmetrical, and mouthwateringly beautiful at the same time. This particular example is painted in Ceramic Matrix Grey Metallic and is accented by the optional 20-inch and 21-inch rear Spider-Design Black forged aluminum wheels. The brake calipers are finished in a contrasting yellow shade, and the exhaust tips in black. Getting into the cabin, the eye-catching Tension/Twilight Blue Dipped interior steals the show. The optional Stealth Interior Trim Package further highlights the cabin by adding a dark finish aluminum trim on the speaker grilles, air vents, and console trim plate. Being the top-end 3LZ trim, the car gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel with carbon-fiber trim, a leather-wrapped instrument panel, and GT2 seats swathed in Napa leather. The seats are heated and ventilated with powered lumbar adjustments and memory settings. As for the infotainment setup, an 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen display and a 14-speaker Bose sound system are standard features.
Engine
Under the hood of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible 3LZ lurks a wailing and bellowing 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8. This motor is capable of revving up to 8,500 rpm and cranking out a maximum of 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power exclusively to the rear wheels. All of this results in neck-snapping levels of acceleration, and unsurprisingly, the Z06 can accelerate to 60 mph in a mind-blowing time of 2.7 seconds. Top speed is limited to a manufacturer-claimed 189 mph. The C8 generation Corvette Z06 is not just the latest and most powerful Corvette, but also the apotheosis of the definitive American sports car.
